Review of 'Monstrous beauty' on 'Goodreads'

The book's title fits it so well. The mermaid commits a monstrous act. There still is so much beauty in this book though. I couldn't believe it when the paranormal twist was set into motion. I was asking myself "Wow, is the author really going to go there in a mermaid novel?" She did. What started out as a slightly darker backwards and forwards version of The Little Mermaid had a Pirates of the Carribean twist. (minus the pirates.) Please excuse the references, I blame Disney and myself a little.

All in all if you can handle a book about mermaids, sacrifice, and a curse you'll love this book. It's captivating.
