Nice narrative history telling. Each hour is represented by someone living in Rome. Learnt some things (i.e. grain comes from Egypt because the transport costs overseas are lots cheaper (28x) then over land from mainland Italy. Pepper is much used and comes from India/ Ceylon. Traffic jams are normal. etc ).

The short chapters make for excellent 'snack' reading; between two chores or before going to sleep.
