It is a worthy follow up to the very long series. I love the series, and this one doesn't disappoint. It is a little shorter than I'd expected (I think it's shorter than most of the other books.) And it ends with a major cliffhanger, which is a little different than most of the other books, which have some resolutions, and some things hanging.
It continues Cherryh's style of more analysis and politics than action - that's one of the reasons I like her books so much!
Overall, a nice new visit to Bren and this fascinating world Cherryh has created. I docked the star for length (wish it were longer) and a bit too much rehash of the other books. Already looking forward to the next one.
