Martinez's first short story collection, featuring ten original tales based on his previous fantasy and science fiction novels. This is a sampling of strange worlds of fantasy featuring talking gorillas, sensible housekeeping kobolds, cosmic monster gods, and world-conquering space squids. Within you'll find tales of werewolf versus bigfoot, ogre versus wizard, and rock alien versus romantic entanglement.

Review of 'Robots versus slime monsters' on 'Goodreads'

It was overall amusing and fun. When it tried to get spiritual, the overriding nonsensical and humorous aspects tone that down, which I thought was good. I like the running tension and love – hate relationship between the two main characters finally realizing that they needed each other, but it was a grudging realization.
The different kinds of characters was refreshing! And the refusal of most people to accept magic and the unbelievable was handled in really, the best way could be. It was a lot of fun, and the surprises around every corner maintained its freshness.
Recommended.
