Review of 'City of God' on 'Storygraph'

5 stars

An outstanding book.
If you are an atheist, you may find that the questions asked here are enough to give you a better understanding of why people are not.
The blurb that says it is set in modern NYC is misleading, there is quite a lot from a European ghetto in WWII, as well as vignettes from the point of view of a bomber pilot over Germany.
Plus discussions of evolution, ecology, cosmology and more woven well into the plot.
There is philosophy, art, Christian and Jewish theology and much more.
A book to re-read a few times and both feel and think.
