Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns (The Devil Wears Prada, #2)

Revenge Wears Prada answers the question no one asked: What's that girl from Devil Wears Prada been up to for the past ten years? Not Lauren Weisberger, of course, we already know what she's been doing - writing books no one cared about. No, Revenge Wears Prada seeks to catch us up on Andy's life. Even though it's set 10 years after the fact, we get to know every high and low point of her life whether we wanted to or not.

This book is short on plot but long on inanity. Multiple times I found myself skimming saying, "so what, who cares?" The one big plot point takes more than 150 pages to get to and doesn't get resolved until the last 60 pages. And when I say resolved I mean, the actual resolution takes about 10 pages and you can see it coming from a mile away.

Also, let's be clear, this book is misnamed. There's no revenge anywhere in these pages, unless its going on the premise that the best revenge is living well - which Andy can't even really manage to do.

At this point you might be wondering why I bothered to finish reading; my only answer is I had nothing better to read on my commute. And it was very readable. Just not very good. Hence the 2 stars.
