When I receive an advance review copy of a book from NetGalley I really do want to finish the book and write a thoughtful opinion on the entire work, but after 3 days of plodding through The Girl from Venice I decided that just wasn't in me.
There are a few interesting chapters after Cenzo the fisherman rescues Giulia from the water but the book soon loses focus. Too many poorly sketched characters and too little plot development make for a disappointment.
