Review of 'Turn of Mind' on 'Goodreads'

I loved it. I thought it a valiant effort to show the world through the eyes of a woman who is traveling to the place from which no one returns. And a slow reveal along the way of the complex relationships between her, her family, and her friend. The mystery was secondary, and little more than a plot device to give the novel something to aim for. Carolyn disagreed. She found the portrayal of Jennifer unconvincing, and the mystery element tacked on. In particular she felt that the change in point-of-view, from first person to second to third, was gimmicky, and the opposite of what really happens in dementia. On the other hand, the protrayal of Jennifer was convincing to Bruce - enough to terrify him with the prospect that this might be in his future.
