Twenty-nine-year-old Satoru Fujinuma is floundering through life. Amid his daily drudgery, he finds himself in the grip of an incredible, inexplicable, and uncontrollable phenomenon that rewinds time, a condition that seems to only make his drab life worse. But then, one day, everything changes. A terrible incident forever changes Satoru's life as he knows it...and with it, comes a "Revival" that sends Satoru eighteen years into the past! In the body of his boyhood self, Satoru encounters sights he never imagined he would see again--the smile of his mother, alive and well, his old friends, and Kayo Hinazuki, the girl who was kidnapped and murdered when he was a boy the first time around. Once more with feeling

Erased is a gripping manga that takes you on a thrilling journey through time, all wrapped around a deeply emotional core. The story centers around Satoru Fujinuma, a man with a unique ability – he can travel back in time moments before a disaster strikes. When his mother is murdered, Satoru is sent 18 years into the past, putting him back in elementary school. This isn't just a chance to prevent his mother's death, it's an opportunity to confront a past trauma and potentially save the life of a classmate who was abducted years ago.

What truly elevates Erased is the strength of the relationships between the characters. Satoru's interactions with his childhood friends and his mother are heartwarming and nostalgic. We see him forge new bonds and mend old ones, all while grappling with the weight of his knowledge.

But Erased isn't all sentimentality. The time travel …

so slow. omfg. the blurb makes it sound like she quits and he comes after her within the first pages of the book, when it really doesn't come about until the 25% mark. there's build-up, and then there's my grandma can walk faster than this plot moves.

did not like the characters either. vanessa supposedly has been through a lot emotionally and financially, therefore making her crave financial stability; and yet she goes to a super expensive college that she has trouble paying for?!? aiden is a butt who barely talks, and i don't understand why vanessa cares and has feeling for him.

i wasn't going to finish it... and then i did. i had to skim past some of it, but it happened. the frequent reference of aiden as "big guy" was annoying and made it sound like a newly potty-trained child, and vanessa didn't necessarily get less annoying. …

it was fine. i believed that abe had changed, that he and sarah belonged together. there wasn't quite the same sparkle between them as in nalini's p/c or gh books, but i wasn't too surprised, given that the rock kiss books aren't quite the same level as those from her other series.

a solid entry into the rock kiss series given the caliber of the others in that series, but it still doesn't hold a candle to any of the p/c or gh books.
