So far it is proving very hard to finish this book. While the series is great in the end I don't want new and confusing storylines. I want my known heroes to meet up for a furious finale. I still have hopes for #10. This one had at least 3 completely new story lines that were so confusing and so disconnected that I mostly skipped them. There was probably supposed to be deep meaning in there but I'd have preferred very much to read about either Darujistan, the Tiste, the Bonehunters, Mappo & Icarium, ... oh and Icarium without all the layers of weirdness and him being a Ghost - at least it could have been made clear earlier - I might have actually read those chapters. Then there is the story about the children around Badalle hunted bei Forkul Assaille. So far absolutely no significance. Skipping over it. Who …
