After playing an incredibly important -- and often scantily clad -- role in the four previous Desperate Duchesses books, it is finally time for Jemma to get her own story.Scandalous Jemma Beaumont and proper polititian Elijah Beaumont were always like oil and water. It came as no surprise to anyone when Jemma left to thrill all of France with her antics shortly after their wedding. But no one expected her return home ready to play the part of “dutiful” wife... least of all her husband.

Maybe my least favorite of the Desperate Duchesses book series so far. I love the scenes and details, as always, but the focus of this is on the relationship between Jemma and Elijah who we've been hearing about since book one, and it's nice to see them try to rekindle their marriage of nine years but there's a certain lack of suspense or barriers on this one, to be really honest. A married couple who haven't been intimate in eight years both want to get it on: will they?? The Villiers story line update was good, and I enjoyed being back in the Desperate Duchesses world while I read this, but the story was a little limp I thought.

Naturally I'll be back again for book #6! I thought this was a mis-fire but I'm guessing we've got a Villiers book coming up next and that one should be fun.
