The second part of Rick Atkinson's trilogy on the US involvement in the European theater of WWII. I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as the firs volume, but that's partly because I'm more familiar with this theater than I was with North Africa, and these books are definitely introductory texts, not coverage in depth. Still highly recommended to those new to the study of the period.
It's a shame that the Iraq War had to delay work on the final volume of this series. I'm looking forward to it.
