This was stunning. A young Japanese girl meets a young kamikaze pilot just days before his mission. They both feel more alive than they had before meeting and have to come to terms with his impending death. While I'm not a fan of WWII fiction, this was told from a perspective that I'm unfamiliar with. Highly recommended.
