This story was better than I thought it would be. Part russian life in the 1800's with witch craft, vampires, zombies and wolves.... it was very good. The plot was well planned. The story and setting itself was riveting. I could imagine the glittering balls and fancy dresses. Katerina is a necromancer. But he soon saw that she was a victim in all of this magic and that she had no control of the deathly power she had. I disliked Prince Danilo. As soon as I found out that he'd been trying to use Katerina to ascend, I knew that George was the one for Katerina. Behind Danilo's handsome looks turned out to only be evil and deception. For the next book, I'm rooting that George will be able to prove to Katerina that he is right for her. I just hope that his family agrees.
