There's a chunk in the middle that felt really slow for me. It reminded me of another book I read called The Grip of It by Jac Jemc. It felt similarly same-y through the middle. The tension is building, but at the same time it feels like similar things are repeating. But the last third of the book really took off, and I couldn't put it down.
