Esther reviewed Die kleine Bäckerei in Brooklyn by Julie Caplin (Romantic Escapes, #2)
Feel good novel
I don't really read romance novels, but I liked "Das kleine Café in Kopenhagen" and the little bakery is the second novel of Julie Caplin's "Romantic Ecapes" -series. Readers already know the protagonist from the first part (Das kleine Café) and suspected that something was off with her boyfriend. We soon find out that it is as bad as we suspected and Julie escapes to New York.
The novel is a little more explicit when it comes to romance scenes. Apart from that, Sophie spends much of her time at the bakery and lovers of #FoodPorn will get their money's worth. The love interest turns out to be someone who needs to be saved - not sure why the author needed to pull out that old hat.
I liked the novel, but I have either the German translation isn't very good or Caplin could work on her style.
