Stuart Woodward reviewed Queen unseen by Peter Hince

This was a really fun and interesting behind the scenes look at Queen from one of their roadies point of view. Peter Hince was often on stage with the band crouched under the piano ready to handle any problems that occurred during live performances, arranging the transportation of the stage show and basically doing anything required to keep the show on the road and acting as personal assistant to the band members when they were in the studio. If you love Queen this is the ultimate insider view of the band, many interesting stories from someone who was in the room at the time. I’m sure that he knows many more stories that he will never tell.
It is very similar to the story told by Stanley Kubrick’s assistant. The people we know as being supremely creative need a crew of trusted assistants who will make things happen for them. …

It is very similar to the story told by Stanley Kubrick’s assistant. The people we know as being supremely creative need a crew of trusted assistants who will make things happen for them. Often this gives the assistants amazing access to them but in the end drives them to quit as looking after someone who is ultimately dependent on you is an enormous pressure.
