Matthew M. Conroy reviewed The microscripts by Robert Walser

Oh, I want to like Robert Walser, but I only do in tiny little bits. Mostly, it's just as Walter Benjamin wrote about him in 1929: "Everything seems to be on the verge of disaster; a torrent of words pours from him in which the only point of every sentence is to make the reader forget the previous one." It sounds terrific, but it isn't. At least not to me, not this year anyway.
I feel kind of left out.
