Deeper than the Lee Alvarez series (which I loved)
Previously I’ve read all the books in Heather Haven’s Lee Alvarez series, which I enjoyed very much. This book (not part of the series) is deeper and more serious, and looks at the kinds of secrets that rip families and communities apart.
Jeri Deane is a talented and hard-working circus performer during WWII who finds one of the clowns dead next to the open door of the lion’s cage. It’s the first of several deaths and she solves them all while keeping herself alive despite the best efforts of a crazy person who’s out to get her.
Well worth reading.
