Great story but sometimes distracting writing style. The sometimes lengthy flashbacks at the beginning were somewhat annoying. I agree with another review that the author used the term "in a heartbeat" way too often which made me nitpick another term used "boomerang" for describing outward explosions with flying debris twice. Boomerangs fly out and back. Really liked the story and the main character. I hope we see more of him in the future.
