This is definitely worth reading. My first Mordecai Richler book, I wasn't sure what to expect. I discovered a richly-woven plot with plenty of foreshadowing and red herrings. The main character, Joshua Shapiro, was a believable protagonist and I rather liked him, flaws and all.
