Review of 'The World Beneath' on 'Goodreads'

The story was good, and the dialogue was very tight. The pacing was excellent; it kept me wanting to read more.

I've never been to New York, much less the subway system, so everything I know about that comes from television and books. Still, Cantrell's expert descriptions mad me feel like I was actually there, and knew every subway tunnel, station, and street intersection in the city! I was a bit confused at first by the description of the clock tower, until she made a reference to the movie Madagascar, and immediately I realised, "Oh, it's THAT clock tower!"

Something that I tend to complain about a lot in these reviews, is the memorability of the characters. My reading sessions tend to be very short, thanks to my busy life, and so I often find myself thinking "Who is he/she again?" or "Now where do they fit in, again?"
