Love this book. It looks at the lives of a small number of people whose lives somehow pivot around each other and and their love of food, centred in particular on an Iraqi fish dish, masgouf. It tells the story from the first person point of view of a few of the main characters whose pains and joys and bewilderment are really well portrayed through an amazing use of language and psychological insight. To be read slowly, for pleasure and enlightenment.
