This book. What to say about this book..
Well to start, I have not read the Iron King series. I have however read the Immortal Rules series and FELL in LOVE. Not with the main character, however, but with pretty much everyone else. And by that I mean Kanin and Jackal.
I expected this book to be much of the same, a strong female lead who I would not like surrounded by other characters who I would adore. Not quite exactly what happened. She delivered on the strong female character, and I did not (still have not) warmed up to her. So we were on point in that area. Then something happened in the book that literally caused me to pause, reread, pause and read again. Somewhere between the Sweet Valley High vibe of teenagers enjoying themselves over the summer and the Deadly Dragons assimililating human society vibe, the Dragons began to surf. Not the waves, more like just ride air currents provided by the waves but even still... they surfed. And despite their size, their latent ferocity.. I just found myself no longer in awe with them nor caring. It was right around then I had to force myself to keep reading.
I will say this, the ending of the book held a lot of promise so the next book will be an intersting read.
