I can see why this won the Booker Prize in 2009.
I don't consider myself a huge fan of historical fiction, and I'm not particularly knowledgable about Thomas Cromwell et al. But I found this a fascinated read. Mantel deftly paints a compelling portrait of the movers and shakers during this time.
Fittingly, I read most of this book by candlelight while my power was out for two days. :)
