Leave It to Psmith: A sparkling delight
5 stars
More than 40 years ago in high school I went on a P.G. Wodehouse binge. I read everything of his in my school library. I loved the books, but for some reason Leave It to Psmith was the one title that really stuck in my mind. I moved on - to a binge of the works of Leonard Wibberly, I think - and for some reason didn't read any Wodehouse until this year. At which point I was recommending books over on Reddit - I stopped doing that for good after the API protest - and had been looking for public domain books in particular to recommend.

How did I forget this book? It's brilliantly witty. I found myself laughing out loud again and again at the adventures of Psmith, glib-tongued man about town. Young Psmith is unique, and his mode of speech is actually intoxicating. I soon remembered that after reading Psmith, I found myself talking like him. It's a pure joy!
The plot itself is likewise clever and funny, classic British humor of the sharp and scintillating variety. But why take my word for it? Leave It to Psmith passed into the public domain over the last forty years, and an outstandingly well-edited and -formatted edition is available free from Standard eBooks in all the major ebook formats. Sally forth and obtain a copy for yourself, comrade!
