I liked this book and could not put it down. The premise of your kid being switched at the hospital I am sure taps into some of the parenting anxiety that new parents feel, and so this falls into another one of those parent-anxiety yarns, but the parents are a little better than average.
I particularly liked the idea of a spectrum of psychopathy, and that Maddy was a show-stealer for me. This book is full of lots of "no way would that happen" and "hmmm, seems unlikely" and it is far from perfect -but nothing so outlandish that I had to throw it across the room. It is a good if standard thriller, with characters that are more interesting than average, and admittedly I stayed up most of the night to finish it. And such a satisfying ending.
