Somewhere between 2 and 3 really.
This sort is okay, reminded me a lot of [b:Swarm|10101733|Swarm (Star Force, #1)|B.V. Larson|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1328303209s/10101733.jpg|14998875], but the women characters are a lot better written (which admittedly means they're still written pretty badly), but hey, I actually managed to finish this and kinda enjoyed it, unlike that book.
I guess you would call this "Testosterone Fueled".
Story basically goes: random dude nearly touches weird thing, turns out that marked him for abduction by aliens, aliens force him to fight to the death with a bunch of people, for some reason they give him a spaceship for doing this and then he kills other things with his spaceship.
One thing that I found particularly amusing is that halfway through there's this neat sub plot that turns into "the main character discovers they're a furry", which don't get me wrong, I'm all for, but I did wonder if …
