It's taken me six weeks to crawl through this baggy, meandering, bitchy, miserable tome. Yes, interesting things happen, but never from the viewpoint of the character who's head you're actually in at the time; instead, you find out the results of that really interesting thing that was just about to happen fourteen pages later. After it's happened. In the briefest possible description. Instead, your time is spent reliving bickering, squabbling, sulking and sniping between some of the most unpleasant characters I've ever had the misfortune to spend my free time with.
I only persevered with this as it's the fifth book in an otherwise excellent series. I will read the sixth. If the sixth is anything like this monstrosity, then the whole series is getting ditched. Life's too short, folks.
