Oh, what a horrible and indefensible position for the main character to be thrown into! And it's so hard to maintain personal ethics while deciding that Livia both likable and disturbing of respect and compassion! The details of the story, as they work out, are heartbreaking and DEFINITELY induce compassion. I know that this is the first book of a series, and I'm considering going on to listen to or even read the next book or books!
