Engaging, but not stellar. I'm not convinced that this is one of Lescroart's best efforts. The variety of different scenarios and positions was good, and the lack of certainty and changes of convictions of the main players was refreshing. I don't know, upon rethinking it, maybe the rating deserves another star. I may have allowed some of my exterior distractions affect too much on my rating.
Overall enjoyable and appropriately intricate and involved. There were several things going on, and they complemented each other quite well. It was another case of "no simple conclusion", but the different aspects depended on each other. The final solution was a little too abrupt, and I felt that Moore should've been said; instead, there was an apparently unconnected scene about promotions in the police department. To me, that seemed a little out of place. In general, a satisfying book.
