"It is only at the end of the world--among the glacial mountains, cleaving icebergs, and frigid waters of Antarctica--where Deb Gardner and Keller Sullivan feel at home. For the few blissful weeks they spend each year studying the habits of emperor and Adélie penguins, Deb and Keller can escape the frustrations and sorrows of their separate lives and find solace in their work and in each other. But Antarctica, like their fleeting romance, is tenuous, imperiled by the world to the north"--Dust jacket flap.

Review of 'My last continent' on 'Goodreads'

Meh, more like 2 1/2 stars.

I liked the setting of this book. I liked learning factoids about Antarctica's flora and fauna. I have always been fascinated by these remote, cold and forbidding settings and the people who travel to them and the reasons they go there. Hence my love of mountain climbing books. So that was a big plus for me. I didn't especially care for the weird back and forth in time, it pulled you out of the current story in a jarring and incoherent fashion... Two years in the past, two days in the past, 20 years in the past... I also don't care for romance novels in general and I didn't especially buy into this one. By the end of the book I could not have cared less what happened and that's not a good thing. Skimmed to the end.
