I'm in Love with the Villainess Volume 3

I definitely thought the last volume was the finale. But I love it when stories continue on past the start of the relationship, so whatever.

The epilogue from last time sets us up for a gentle life with Rae, Claire, and their two children, but they're soon asked to go to the Nur Empire for a while to quell hostilities there. Rae realizes they're being set up for the spin-off game, Revo-Lily, and begins plotting with Claire to bring about revolution in the Nur Empire and save their quiet lives together.

There's a bit less focus on romance this time around, with the exception of the bonus stories, but the events are still interesting and are leading to mysterious places. My only major complaint is that this volume doesn't feel like it makes much progress in this second act of the story, so while I enjoyed the ride a lot the ride didn't do very much.

The bonus stories at the end are lovely, but they all take place before the actual plot so they feel a little misplaced. Still well worth reading.

Honestly, I wasn't sure if this would be worthwhile since the second volume finished things off so well, but this was a great entry to the series and I'm excited for more.
