I must admit that I feel like just listening through this is merely skimming the lectures, the propper way it should be listened to is by making notes of some of the things, pausing to look up others mentioned, etc. I did just the skimming version, and already I'm quite awed at the amount of work cognitive behavioural therapy requires. And I guess that's a good lesson for me to take from a book. I guess that somehow, maybe from TV or my wishfull thinking or some such I've gotten the impression that medicine just fixes whatever's wrong with you, and why shouldn't mental health things be the same. I've never really thought about how much work goes into healing or, in worse cases - managing an illness. And when it's kind of pointed out to me, it makes a lot of sense that changing the way one thinks is …

And that's just the most obvious and glaring thing I learnt from this lecture-book. I hope I come back to it, or if not, reaserch and learn to use the tools of CBT some way.
