Review of 'The Great Ordeal (Aspect-Emperor, #3)' on 'Goodreads'
3 stars
I'm in tow minds over The Great Ordeal, on one had it has depth and there are significant revelations that reveal more about the world.
On the other hand, getting through the book was an ordeal. I kept putting it down and switching to other books.
Perhaps it is the density of the text and the level of concentration needed to keep abreast of significant revelations.
At the moment I'm not sure I wouldn't rather go read the wikipedia article about The Unholy Consort, rather than reading the whole thing.
As for Dune influences so prevalent in Bakker's books, this time we get Tleilaxu axolotl tanks.
