Molly Foust reviewed Sleepless by Romy Hausmann

Not as good as Dear Child, but it did have a few compelling characters and satisfying plot twists. I am still grappling with the ending, which caused me to exclaim to my cat- 'NO that did NOT just happen' and 'Uh uh'- and 'whoa there you cannot completely change one of the primary villains like that'. And then I am also wondering what the point of that first lover, before Lara and after Lily? What did I miss? It just was not as convincing, and I was entertained but not enthused.
I thought that the critique of sensationalist media from her first book would become a critique of shitty criminal lawyers in her second book, and it was to some extent. I think her third book will be better.
