Review of "Summary, Analysis, and Review of William Paul Young's the Shack" on 'Goodreads'

Horrible, poorly written nonsense that reads like a Hallmark film. The morals that this book tries to put to the reader are obvious at best (but played off as wisdom with a moron protagonist), and harmful at worst. One of the key ‘lessons’ is that it’s essential and Good to forgive your abuser, and that not forgiving them is ‘bad’

Don’t even get me started on the Magical Black Woman character, or the fact that every incarnation of God is treated as a magical through racial qualities (with the exception of Jesus who is, at the very least, presented correctly as a middle eastern Jewish man).

I wanted to read this because I wanted to see just how awful it was. In that regard, it doesn’t disappoint.
