Review of 'A Girl of the Limberlost' on 'Goodreads'

Written in the early 1900's, this book is a little dated but still delightful. Elnora collects butterflies and moths, and is an avid naturalist. Her mother struggles to love her and she struggles to win the respect of her peers. It is a book that exalts nature and conventional values, but Elnora is delightful as an independent heroine. My grandmother gave me this book as a little girl, and it has been 30 years since I read it. I reread for nostalgia more than anything else- but it didn't disappoint.
