I can't remember the last time I read a YOUNG YA book – this one felt like it was for an early middle school audience, so it lacked the sophistication I usually expect from older YA fiction. That said, it would be a good read for grade 5/6 kids to help them develop a bit of empathy for people who are different (in this case, Tourette Syndrome) , though I would still choose WONDER by RJ Palacio hands-down, every time.

Forget Me Not is a beautiful novel. The poetry is as wonderful as the story. Ellie Terry gives us a strong and compelling character in Calliope and a great middle grade friendship as well. This touching tale hits on some very real problems - and does so with grace and hope. A must have for school libraries.
