Review of 'Doughnut' on 'Goodreads'

This was my first encounter with Tom Holt.

A friend recommended him to me and I'm glad of it.

Despite some bad reviews I've read here I thoroughly enjoyed Doughnut.

There were sections where I did wish our protagonist did have at least one friend in the world, but later on this was explained to my satisfaction.

Both funny and based on a sound Sci-Fi idea, I loved it.

Fun. It’s been two decades since I last read Holt, almost that long since I stopped looking for more books by him. What a treat to discover that he’s writing again!

Doughnut is pretty much what I expected—deliciously so. Surreal, whimsical, charming, lighthearted, but also mature. I’m looking forward to catching up on the last ten years of Holt.
