The story itself is beautiful and engaging. There is, however, a lot of dudy dude talk and right wing tendencies I feel we could have been without.

It's kinda okay I guess. I just feel like the genre is saturated and I'm not sure if this book offers anything new and original? Just a run of the mill post-apocalypse book with a bit of military spin on it. Also I'm not sure I dig the military conspiracy that is taking place in the book.
