Six years after the fight that ended their friendship, Daphne Berg is shocked when Drue Cavanaugh walks back into her life, looking as lovely and successful as ever, with a massive favor to ask. Review of 'Big Summer' on 'Goodreads'

Maybe it's pandemic fatigue, but I'm finding I've developed more tolerance (and appreciation) for chick-lit in the last year. This was a solid effort, as evidenced by the fact that I knocked it out in two days.

This book pleasantly surprised me in a few ways – probably because the publisher's description deliberately led me to believe it would be a clichéd beach read. I won't give more detail for risk of spoiling the fun, but this book had a few twists I didn't see coming.

My only criticism: there were a couple sex scenes that felt unnecessarily overly descriptive. I'm not prudish, so they didn't offend me, but they seemed ill-calibrated with the rest of the writing.
