A really good followup to [b:Infomocracy|26114433|Infomocracy (The Centenal Cycle, #1)|Malka Ann Older|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1444883445s/26114433.jpg|46061300]. In particular, I liked how the focus shifted to a relatively minor character from the first book, but the old primary characters were still in the mix, and the story kept on rolling. And it was really interesting to see how she took the basic premise established in the first book (micro-democracies backed by the all-seeing Information) and ran with it. What's the deal with the non-microdemocracies in this world? What happens to old-style countries when they join? What about military conflicts?

Okay, yes, so that's all the stuff you kinda hope for in the second book of a sff series, but Malka delivered on all fronts. And she even set up a bunch of threads to kickstart the next one, which I'm eagerly awaiting.
