I came across these thinking these could be a good way to actually have audiobooks of the original trilogy novels, even though these are clearly not the original trilogy novels but retellings for the young adult audience. Well, I'll still be hoping for the originals, but this was pretty good. Marc Thompson, always super as a narrator, first and foremost. With the story, sure, it's a little strange to hear different scenes put in or different takes on other scenes or lines that we have been living with for the past 40+ years, but still, this was done well, getting 1/3 of the story from each of the title people - the princess, the scoundrel and the farm boy. But it's also trying to teach lessons even if someone isn't exactly paying attention to them specifically. So, yep, I liked it.

My first thoughts after reading this book: wow! This was truly a fun and amazing read.

Not only did this book give us an insight into the thoughts of the three main characters but it also served to give more to the characters themselves. We learn more of Leia's life on Alderaan. Her relationship with her parents, her aunts, and her rise to becoming a senator. Little things like that give more to the character than a simple image on a screen. You never really hear what they are thinking or what internal struggle is going on inside of their head. This book delivers it to you.

I really enjoyed this one. I had a hard time putting it down and woud devoured it in one day if it had not been for family obligations during the holidays.

Even if you have never seen the Star Wars saga, give this …
