cole is hot-tempered and defensive for the good first half, and it's kind of annoying. he eventually mellows out, though, so that's cool.
sam's backstory/inability to trust was clear enough, but it felt a little skipped over to me, and i thought those parts could have been stronger. especially because in their final conflict, this major issue throughout the book/their relationship isn't what (temporarily) draws them apart.
liked both of them well enough, but didn't love them.
i enjoyed this book more than the other play by play one i read, simply because of my expectations. i knew it'd be sex-heavy, and that there would be more sports analogies than actual sports.
