Aja Barber wants change.

CONSUMED explores the injustices in our textile industries and its exploitative history, one which has deep roots in colonialism still evident in today’s wealth inequality.

It will examine and unpack the reasons why you can’t stop consuming and ask you to hold those in power to account, ultimately teaching you how to be a citizen not a consumer.

I really enjoyed finally reading this book. Had to wait ages for it at the library as it’s very popular, for good reason. Fast fashion is hugely damaging and Aja unpacks the history of this and how we can all take action to stop this, whatever our circumstances. I have been thinking about these issues for a while now, this book really cements for me the moral reasons why I am breaking up with fast fashion and consumption.
