4.0 Neat setup for a trilogy that shows Harry Turtledove can write when it comes to things other than war narratives (I always preferred the civilian life scenes in his other books). The unfolding of the catastrophe and the political, human reactions feel eerily real - complete with folks who refuse to put on masks when it's for their good.
