Review of 'The Cramps' on 'Goodreads'

The book was reasonably well written. The quotes and biographical details pulled from a variety of (mostly secondary) sources were good. The analysis and commentary sections on these quotes and biographical details were less strong. I assume that the author didn't have loads of access to Ivy and Lux and lots of the details have to be gleamed from album liner notes and articles in the press, creating quite a distance from them. So, Lux and Ivy were in a relationship for more than three decades but there is nothing on that except some passing remarks about their record collection and Lux taking lots of pictures of Ivy. I guess given the availability of material, it was good but it still left me feeling like what you get from reading liner notes.
