3 stars
The Chocolate Touch is the 3rd novel in Laura Florand’s Amour et Chocolat series and it features Jaime Corey, Cade Corey’s younger, activist, sister and chocolatier Dominique Richard, as well as cameos from the couples featured in the previous stories. The Chocolate Touch is a little darker in tone than the other stories we’ve gotten from Florand, and that’s because Jaime is still recovering (both physically and mentally) from an incident that happened in the background of The Chocolate Kiss. She comes into Dominique’s shop every day for chocolate and Dominique, who is used to having his amorous way with chocolate groupies, is immediately besotted with her and instinctively knows that she’s not just a groupie. Once they meet, their romance progresses quickly but not unbelievably so. They are well matched as each person has their own scars, inside and out, that they must deal with.

Like the rest of the books in this series, The Chocolate Touch transports the reader to Paris from the first page. For those who have been before, I can’t see how reading this book doesn’t make you want to go back, immediately. For those who have never had the pleasure, I would imagine these books to be either pure torture or the impetus needed to finally book that flight. That being said, although this is part of a series, there is no need to read the books in order as The Chocolate Touch completely stands on its own. It’s a sumptuous romance that will leave you either wanting to buy the rest of Florand’s back list or waiting impatiently for the next installment.
