I feel pretty confident in saying anyone who’s ever read Lord Perfect has been waiting for this book. Having only discovered Loretta Chase a few years ago, I, luckily, haven’t had to wait as long as others to finally see Peregrine and Olivia have their own story. I am happy to report, that no matter how long you’ve been waiting, Last Night’s Scandal is worth the wait. Everything that made Peregrine and Olivia such outstanding characters in Lord Perfect is still present - - somehow Chase really managed to take all of the personality quirks that made them so lovable in Lord Perfect, and realistically aged the characters. I also loved that, just as in Lord Perfect, the duo get to go on a Grand Adventure, and just happen to fall in love along the way.

I read Last Night’s Scandal about three months ago, but as I sit down to write this review, all of the warm and fuzzies I had while reading just came flooding back. I loved the Aunties that went on their vacation, I loved the bumbling ghosts (though I think I liked them more in hindsight, than I did during the story), I loved the adventure they embarked upon; truly, from start to finish, I enjoyed Last Night’s Scandal. You don’t need to have read Lord Perfect to appreciate how great Last Night’s Scandal is, but it sure won’t hurt either!
